It seems like I’ve been catching sunsets at just the right time lately. When I was still inside the lobby area at the Jackson Walmart, I saw the world was glowing orange,
When I got outside, I was impressed with the clouds and the way the wet parking lot shined. (You can click on the photos to make them larger.)
Look to the southwest
While I was taking a few shots, a kid who was collecting shopping carts said, “If you think that’s something, cross over the lane and look to your southwest.”
Holy camel in a canoe!
The kid wasn’t fibbing. The sky was boiling like something from an apocalyptic movie. It was somewhere between scary and awesome.
It was another good example of why you shoot it when you see it, because the clouds moved on a few minutes later, and they never got better.
Interesting, but not spectacular
The Jackson sunset was much more spectacular than one I had shot a few days earlier coming out of another store in Cape. These clouds were curious-looking, but not nearly as mind-blowing as the ones from the Walmart parking lot.
Just for the record, I don’t shoot sunrises.
