These women students at Southeast Missouri State College seem to be taking their field hockey seriously (although there seems to be some informal chatting going on between competitors in a couple of the frames). These were probably taken in 1966ish.

I used to watch these girls play in the mornings while walking between classes…way too early. They played behind Parker Hall in the old valley that sloped toward the towers dorms to the east. Mostly St. Louis chicks that played and real jockettes at the time. Other than swimmers you really did do see women playing sports too much in those days.
I recognize some of the players as my Alpha Xi Delta sorority sisiters. I suspect this was taken in the fall of 1965.
